ABOUT US

Lowland Rescue Teams are trained to thoroughly search all manner of terrain/buildings except mountainsides.

They are trained to search for any clues that might be useful and not touch them, just note where they are and radio in the details. Then one person is left standing by the clue until someone from the Emergency Services comes to look.

Meanwhile the rest of the Team carry on searching.

The same happens if the Team find a casualty. Said casualty could be the person they are looking for or someone not connected to the missing person. Either way, the casualty has found help!

The Team always has at least one medically qualified person there on a search so that person will race to the side of the casualty and give what help he/she can.

The Team was formed in January 2004 and all that year was spent in training as the Team could not be called out until there was a qualified Search Controller to lead the Team.

Once we had one Search Controller the call-outs started.
